About massage therapy
A sports massage will consist of a deep tissue massage to an area of pain or discomfort. Sports massage can be given to relieve pain, increase elasticity in the muscles, relieve and release tender areas within muscles and relax tight muscles. It will also give a good feeling of well being to the client to help them relax and reduce stress in the body.
Sports massage can last up to one hour per treatment and can be given as a regular treatment for injury prevention, improvement in sports performance and maintenance for the body. It can also be given for pre and post event, for example a few days before a football match or long distance run and then post event to reduce fatigue and lactic acid
build up in the muscles.
